Solar Energy

What can Synergy do?
Turnkey solar energy solutions, including:

• Consulting assistance for applicable and available State and Federal funding
• Permitting services including development of applicable trading credits*
• Consulting and engineering for the installation of solar panels

Benefits of Solar Energy

*With the installation of solar panels, our clients are able to qualify for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates. These certificates can then later be sold or traded with other organizations. In Pennsylvania energy deregulation takes effect on January 1, 2010.  Solar panels are also a way to save money on rising electric costs.

Solar Energy Projects

Retail Gas – Canopy installations
Synergy has developed a portfolio of work installing solar energy systems on retail gasoline service station canopies. These systems enable the service station owners to operate their facility using an efficient, low cost energy solution.

Synergy service station solar panel installations have been partially funded from grant money provided by the State government. Most states are making grant money available to encourage increased solar generation capacity as a matter of public policy. In addition to grants received, the facilities are eligible for a 45% one time rebate on up front installation costs. Other financial benefits include a 30% Federal Tax credit, as well as the ability to depreciate equipment installed for further tax benefits.

Retail Gas – Ground mounted systems installation
Synergy has also built a number of ground mounted systems as well with similar benefits to those described above.

Large Scale system design and engineering.
For an industrial electric installation firm, Synergy has provided consulting on system design and engineering to enable the company to expand their services to provide alternative energy solutions.

Geothermal Energy

What is Geothermal Energy?
Geothermal power is gained from the heat stored in the earth.  The energy is gained as either hot air or hot water, which is then converted into electricity.

Benefits of Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is an alternate energy source that is renewable, cost effective, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.  By using geothermal energy, less greenhouse gases are released then when drilling for fossil fuels, for therefore the usage of geothermal energy can help mitigate global warming.

What can Synergy do?
As experienced project managers with a long history of geologic investigation and earth intrusive construction projects, Synergy is uniquely positioned to provide turnkey or specialized services for geothermal system installations..  Synergy has developed a subcontractor network of experienced system designers and drilling and construction contractors.

Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Wind Power Installations

What is EIS for Wind Power Installations?
Prior to installation of any wind power generation system, regulations require an evaluation which will describe both the negative and positive outcomes of this action on the environment. An area of emphasis for any EIS for wind turbines is “aviary migratory effect”, or the effect of the wind installation on bird migrations.

The EIS Process
The first step is to complete an Environmental Assessment (EA) to determine if an EIS is needed. If it is determined an EIS is needed, Synergy will be able to help formulate a final draft with a purpose and need, proposed action, affected environment, range of alternatives and action plan sections.
